Qualcomm Named Organization of the Year by the American Society for Training and Development

SAN DIEGO -- February 2, 2001 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) today announced that Qualcomm's Learning Center was the recipient of the "Organization of the Year" award given by the San Diego Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).

Qualcomm's Learning Center was recognized for its commitment to developing and implementing progressive training, development and performance initiatives. The Learning Center was acknowledged for its innovative approaches to learning, including an employee interactive Web site that offers extensive learning resources. Qualcomm employees may choose from a variety of online courses and learning opportunities, such as training in leadership, management, engineering, computer applications and other business related technologies.

The award, accepted by Dr. Daniel Sullivan, senior vice president of human resources and Elkeles, was the second awarded to Qualcomm's Learning Center from ASTD after having received the same award in 1994.
