Power On Software Purchases Now Utilities from Qualcomm

SAN DIEGO, CA - August 5, 1998 - Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM),today announced the Company's agreement to sell Now Utilities®, a powerfulsuite of file and system utilities software designed for the Macintosh®platform, to Power On Software, Inc., a leader in the development ofworld-class utilities software. Power On will acquire responsibility forall sales and support of Now Utilities. Now Utilities was one of severalproducts acquired by Qualcomm from Now Software in November, 1997.
