Qualcomm Introduces New Headsets for Its CDMA Digital Phones

Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced the first hands-free headset for its Q™ phone and QCP series of phones. The new headset offers users greater comfort and safety and supports hands-free use. A special Hearing Aid Telephone Interconnect System (HATIS) certified version of the headset will become available. This is the industry's first HATIS certified headset for Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital phones.

"The new headset features a soft, protected ear piece and clip-on microphone that are easy to use and they deliver the same exceptional clarity of every Qualcomm CDMA digital wireless phone," said Gina M. Lombardi, vice president of product development for Qualcomm's Subscriber Products Division. "Qualcomm is proud to be HATIS certified for our entire line of CDMA digital portable and fixed wireless phones."

The special HATIS headset version is designed to provide the hearing impaired, using a T-coil hearing aid, with access to the CDMA digital wireless network. The device will be available via service carriers nationwide. The headset is available for Qualcomm's 800 MHz and 1900 MHz Q phones, as well as the QCP-2700, QCP-2700F, QCP-1920 and QCP-1920F 1900 MHz phones and the QCP-820 and QCP-820F 800 MHz portable phones.
