Qualcomm Announces Promotion of Three Executives

Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced the promotions of John Sarto, Paul Jacobs and Don Schrock in recognition of tremendous growth and successes in development of their respective business units.

"These promotions are in recognition of outstanding business successes and strong leadership of Qualcomm's OmniTRACS, Subscriber Products and ASICs Products Divistions and reflect the contributions of these three leaders," said Harvey White, president of Qualcomm.

John Sarto, who joined Qualcomm's OmniTRACS Division in January 1995, was promoted to president of the OmniTRACS Division. Mr. Sarto has been instrumental in OmniTRACS becoming the premier provider of wireless communications to the domestic trucking industry, while expanding internationally and introducing new products maintaining OmniTRACS leadership position.

Paul Jacobs was promoted to president of Qualcomm's Subscriber Products Division. Mr. Jacobs joined Qualcomm in 1990 and was named General Manager for Qualcomm's Subscriber Products Division in May 1995. He has led the division from research and design to record breaking sales orders, product design and delivery. Subscriber Products recently shipped its one millionth CDMA handset.

Don Schrock, who joined Qualcomm in January 1996, bringing over 20 years experience in the semiconductor industry to Qualcomm, was promoted to senior vice president and general manager of Qualcomm's ASICs Products Division. Under Mr. Schrock's leadership, ASICs has posted record sales, introduced new products and identified new markets in becoming the industry's leader in CDMA designs.
