Qualcomm Introduces Eudora® Preferred Partner Program For Vars; Sales-Building Partnership Complements Launch Of Eudora Worldmail™ Server

Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM), a leader in wireless communications and advanced electronic messaging solutions for the Internet, today announced at Internet Expo in San Jose, California its first-ever sales partnership program targeting Value Added Resellers (VARs). Developed to complement and support the launch of Eudora WorldMail™ Server software, the Eudora® Preferred Partner campaign provides Internet/intranet savvy resellers with sales tools for increasing the already strong presence of the Eudora family of software products into the small- to medium-sized business market and departmental workgroups in larger organizations. The Eudora division's family of software products is the world's most widely used Internet e-mail solution with 18 million users across the globe.

"The launch of Eudora WorldMail Server software as a complement to our popular client software opens the doors to many new customers for the Eudora business," stated Ann Schrader, director of Worldwide Sales of Qualcomm's Eudora division. "We now have a total client/server solution for Internet and intranet messaging which is unusually scalable to meet the needs of small to medium-sized business environments and departmental workgroups."

The Eudora Preferred Partner program targets small integrators, consultants, Internet Server Providers (ISPs), vertical Integrated Software Vendors (ISVs) and corporate resellers that are knowledgeable in Internet standards-based solutions. Designed to help VARs grow product and service revenue through a total Internet/intranet solution for customer needs, the program includes: Comprehensive training and sales tools, 7x24 premium support options, sales leads from the Eudora division's ongoing end-user lead generation programs and access to an exclusive website of product and marketing information.

VARs participating in the program receive a Eudora Preferred PartnerPak that includes:

Designed to meet the ease-of-installation/administration needs of smaller businesses and the rigorous demands of larger organizations, Eudora WorldMail Server software is an advanced, scalable solution perfect for migrating customers from outdated proprietary mail systems to Internet standards-based messaging. The powerful server software provides fast, reliable messaging services for the Windows NT® platform and supports standards-based Internet messaging using Internet Messaging Access Protocol (IMAP) and Post Office Protocol (POP3).

Eudora WorldMail Server includes built-in security features; central and remote management; and centralized directory storage of user names, e-mail addresses and other relevant information using Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Ph, the popular Internet "White Pages" Protocol.
