Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced the new Q0315 Direct Digital Synthesizer (DDS) Evaluation System designed to demonstrate the performance of the Q2368 dual DDS integrated circuit. The DDS Evaluation System consists of a Q0315 evaluation platform, digital I/O board, software, cabling and a User's Guide. The Q0315 evaluation platform contains a Q2368 device, 125 Megahertz (MHz) 10 bit DAC, 100 MHz 12 bit DAC and the necessary analog output circuitry to provide optimum DDS performance.

The Q0315 DDS Evaluation System allows users to evaluate the Q2368 as a dual DDS operating up to 65 MHz or as a single high speed DDS operating up to 130 MHz. The evaluation platform is computer controlled through a digital I/O board that resides in the user's personal computer. The Windows' based menu-driven software willautomatically compute all desired register values based upon the user's input. It will allow programming of all built-in functionality of the Q2368 and access to all programmable registers for operation as a dual DDS or as a single high speed DDS.

The Q2368 can be clocked by an on-board 125 MHz oscillator or by a user supplied external clock. A 34 pin customer control connector can be used to program the Q2368 in Serial Mode or to evaluate many of the different modulation modes.

The Q2368 is an ideal choice for many applications including Cellular Base Stations, Digital Radios and Modems, RADAR Systems and Simulators, High Performance Test Equipment and Hybrid Fiber/Coax (HFC) Networks.

Pricing for the Q0315 DDS Evaluation System is $395. Q0315 systems are available now from stock and are provided with a complete User's Guide and schematics.
