Over 18 million people use Eudora Light™ or Eudora Pro™ software as their primary Internet email, making the Eudora family of software products the world's most widely used Internet email solution." DeBello will report directly to Jeff Jacobs, who was recently named one of the most influential people on the Internet by Inter@ctive Week magazine. DeBello will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of the Eudora division, including engineering, operations, business systems, marketing, sales and program management.
Prior to joining Qualcomm, DeBello founded Solectek Corporation in 1990, leading the firm to become the industry's major supplier of internetworking products using radio frequency technology in the wireless LAN market. An industry leader, DeBello forged strategic partnerships with Cisco and ATT, and was instrumental in driving the market acceptance of standards for the use of unlicensed radio frequencies in the emerging wireless data industry. Previously, he had been responsible for management at John M. Thornton & Associates, a San Diego-based high-tech investment group specializing in the investment and operation of hardware and software firms. DeBello received a B.A in economics and history from Harvard in 1980, and a MBA from Harvard in 1986.
