Qualcomm Incorporated (QCOM: NASDAQ), a leader in wireless communications and advanced electronic messaging solutions for the Internet, today announced it has entered into an agreement with Tech Data (TECD: NASDAQ) to distribute Eudora® software to its VAR, reseller and retail customer base in the United States, Latin America and Canada. Tech Data is among the world's leading distributors of high-tech software and hardware, representing such vendors as Adobe, Compaq, Symantec, Quarterdeck and Microsoft. Eudora software is the world's leading Internet email application with over 18 million users, an 80% increase since January of 1996.

Eudora Pro? 3.0 software, available for both Macintosh and Windows-based computers, offers numerous new features, including enhanced message filtering, a new plug-in architecture and support for multiple email accounts, making it one of the most powerful email management and productivity tools available. Eudora Pro 3.0 for Windows supports the Microsoft® Windows® 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT? operating systems.
According to Schrader, Qualcomm selected Tech Data for its VAR expertise. Tech Data will provide technical service and support for resellers in the United States, Canada and Latin America. In addition, Tech Data will offer reseller support services and marketing services including catalogs, MarketSMART magazine updates, end-user product guides and weekly Just the Fax bulletins. Qualcomm will provide Tech Data with a complete sales kit to help resellers market and sell the product.
A January 1996 survey of Internet users conducted by Matrix Information Directory Services (MIDS) of Austin, Texas, a leading authority on the Internet and its growth, concluded that over 60 percent of educational institutions and over 50 percent of organizations on the Internet use the Eudora software products for communication.
