Play Fortnite at 90 FPS on the OnePlus 8 Series powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon – a first on smartphones

Today our friends at OnePlus made an exciting announcement – the OnePlus 8 Series is the first line of smart phones to run Fortnite at 90 frames per second (FPS)! With a boost from Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming and one of the world’s most popular games, Fortnite by Epic Games, the OnePlus 8 Series essentially offers gaming rigs packed inside works of art. The new OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G Mobile Platform with first-to-mobile gaming features and incredible graphics quality creating ultra-smooth gaming experiences and a new level of realism for mobile games.

At the heart of the Snapdragon gaming experience is the Qualcomm Adreno 650 graphics processing unit (GPU). It’s designed to deliver beautiful graphics at the highest FPS and sustain those frame rates for long periods of time, while merely sipping battery power. That way you can game longer per charge.

The OnePlus 8 Series is tapping into the capabilities of Snapdragon Elite Gaming by debuting a new Fortnite smartphone experience. It is the first smartphone that lets you game in Fortnite at 90 FPS. At this rate, we expect this to be the smoothest gaming experience ever seen on Fortnite for smartphones.

In order to support 90 FPS, Epic has a stringent certification process to enable any chipset to run at these extreme frame rates. It involves testing in areas including thermals, power consumption, and gaming performance sustained over long periods of gameplay – everything that Snapdragon 865 prides itself on. Previously on smartphones, Fortnite could only run up to 60 FPS. Fortnite on the OnePlus 8 Series with Snapdragon 865 is amazing at 90 FPS.
