Snapdragon 730 and 730G deliver powerful gaming and industry-leading AI

The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 Mobile Platform and Snapdragon 730G Mobile Platform deliver premium, in-demand and next-generation features to a new tier of users. Both incorporate industry-leading AI for intuitive video capture and optimized performance, so you can enjoy smarter experiences across your devices. The Snapdragon 730G raises the bar for serious gamers, adding select Snapdragon Elite Gaming features for powerful gaming.

Here’s a more detailed look at what these platforms have to offer:

Smart, sophisticated AI experiences

We developed these new mobile platforms to include technologies typically found in premium-tier platforms. This includes the fourth generation, multi-core Qualcomm AI Engine with a Qualcomm Hexagon Tensor Accelerator that’s dedicated to AI. It’s 2X faster than the previous generation and provides intuitive on-device interactions for camera, gaming, voice, and security.

When it comes to audio, the Qualcomm AI Engine works with the platform’s Voice Assistant Accelerator to recognize keywords and pick up your voice — even in the noisiest places. The Voice Assistant Accelerator uses our machine learning algorithms, making it easier to cut out the clutter. 

The Snapdragon 730 also includes our Hexagon 688 DSP, Qualcomm Adreno 618 GPU, and Qualcomm Kryo 470 CPU, which work together so the platform can take the fastest, most power-efficient paths to complete AI tasks.

Awe-inspiring camera capabilities

The Snapdragon 730 brings brilliant video capabilities to the 7 Series by aligning its Qualcomm Spectra 350 ISP with a Computer Vision ISP (CV-ISP), a first for our 7 Series. Working together, this powerful ISP can provide depth-sensing capabilities at 60 fps and up to 4X the power savings compared to the Snapdragon 710 mobile platform. This means your phone’s camera can do more without overly draining the battery.

Thanks to the CV-ISP in the Snapdragon 730, the camera enables impressive experiences such as 4K HDR video capture with Portrait mode and object segmentation, allowing you to capture even more creative photos and videos in almost any setting. You can even capture images at up to 48 megapixels that support multi-frame noise reduction. These graphics-heavy files (and computer vision data) are then stored at half the size in HEIF format, saving you space.

Connections that count

With the Snapdragon 730, you can connect quickly and effortlessly virtually wherever you are. The Snapdragon X15 LTE Modem offers up to 800 Mbps download speeds for a fast connection, even in some of the most crowded and remote locations.

The mobile platform is also Wi-Fi 6 ready for the latest generation in Wi-Fi connectivity. It expands overall capacity, providing consistent mobile experiences across congested networks with increased connectivity range. Compared to its previous generation, Wi-Fi 6 has shown 67 percent greater power efficiency, so the Snapdragon 730 is designed to do it all with battery life to spare.

Strike a power balance

The Snapdragon 730 is equipped with power-efficient technologies that work to optimize the device’s battery usage, making the platform perfectly capable of handling all the premium features it offers. Its 8nm process allows for extreme power efficiency in a small size. Its Qualcomm Kryo 470 CPU is built on the latest Arm Cortex Technology and provides a 35 percent performance uplift compared to its predecessor. And when the Snapdragon 730 is at work, it balances its workload across eight cores: two performance and six efficiency.

When the devices powered by Snapdragon finally runs out of power, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ Technology is there to deliver up to a 50 percent charge in 15 minutes*. 

Uncompromising gaming performance

An exciting differentiator of the Snapdragon 730G is its select Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, which include an arsenal of hardware and software optimizations that give mobile gamers a competitive edge. When it comes to graphics, it provides the components to make games more immersive and keep them running smoothly. The enhanced Adreno 618 GPU in the Snapdragon 730G delivers 25 percent higher performance than the Snapdragon 710. The Vulkan 1.1 graphics library supports extreme realism and rich visual effects, at 20 percent lower power than Open GL ES. The Snapdragon 730G also supports True HDR (HDR rendering and display), which renders the game in over a billion shades of colors. And to ensure you can fully immerse yourself in other realms, Qualcomm aptX Adaptive Audio and Qualcomm Aqstic Audio Technology are also included, delivering smooth, crystal-clear surround-sound audio.

Typically, these high-resolution benefits would slow down the device, but the Jank reducer is designed to lessen stops and stutters by up to 90 percent. By significantly reducing Wi-Fi latency, the devices supported by Snapdragon 730G can run multiplayer games with less blips or glitches.

Finally, the platform’s anti-cheating optimizations level the playing field, so hackers can’t cheat the backend and gain an unfair advantage.
