GIFtionary: mmWave

mmWave [milə-mēdər | wāv]
noun

  1. Short for millimeter wave.
  2. Spectrum bands above 24 GHz, which have previously been unsuitable for mobile broadband communications. Because of Qualcomm advancements in antenna technology, mobile devices will be able to leverage large bandwidths available in mmWave spectrum bands for 5G networks, which alongside Gigabit-class LTE, vastly increases network speed and capacity.
