Fossil is known for its stylish and timeless leather goods, and its new generation of smartwatches, originally announced at this year’s Baselworld, is no exception. The Fossil Q Marshal and Fossil Q Wander are classically styled, and both are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100, an impressive processor that supports their “always awake” touch screens, superior connectivity, and virtually always-on sensors.
The Fossil Q Marshal and Q Wander effortlessly blend style with technology. Thanks to the small footprint design of the Snapdragon Wear 2100, these Android Wear watches are smaller than Fossil’s previous Q generation, at a case size of 45mm.
With customizable watch faces, you can truly make the Q watches your own. The Q Wander’s case has soft curves and sculpted wire lugs, and is available in Rose Gold, Silver, and Black. The Q Marshal is a bit more rugged, and its case comes in either Gray, Navy Blue, Silver, or Black. The straps are also interchangeable: Pick from vintage-inspired leather, stainless steel, and silicone.
Aside from their good looks, the Q smartwatches can juggle a variety of features, thanks to the Snapdragon Wear 2100, the highly integrated, ultra-low power sensor hub at the heart of the devices. The Q Marshal and Q Wander not only receive call and text notifications, but they also have built-in microphones and speakers, so that they can perform a variety of tasks using vocal commands. Wireless syncing helps to keep watch alerts up to date.
Both smartwatches are designed to sense outside temperature and track daily steps taken and calories burned; the Q Wander is also built to track distance traveled. And because the Q Wander and Q Marshal have Android Wear, you can download a variety of apps, including apps to control your smart lighting, record audio, send tweets, advance your Powerpoint presentation, and hail a Lyft.
Both smartwatches are compatible with Android and iOS devices, and can connect via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Wireless charging allows you to charge the 360mAh battery easily without getting caught in wires.
