DragonBoard Developers: 3 operating systems are ready for you

Over several months of blog posts, we’ve been telling the story of operating system support on the DragonBoard™ 410c. Here’s a simple, three-word summary to help you choose: Android, Linux, Windows.

DragonBoard Operating System Support

The DragonBoard 410c you buy today from Arrow Electronics supports all three operating systems:

  • Android 5.1 (Lollipop). At the TechCrunch Disrupt Hackathon a few months ago, Asier Arranz and his team built an app called Real Reality for Android, which they described as the “world’s first 360° streaming system.”
  • Linux. The Linux image for the Dragonboard is built by Linaro and is based on Debian, currently with the v4.2.4 Linux Kernel.
  • Windows 10. For devices like the DragonBoard, Microsoft has released the Windows 10 IoT Core edition of Windows 10. It runs Universal Windows apps and supports the same development tools as other Windows 10 editions.

At this year’s AT&T Developer Summit Hackathon, we saw all three OSes used in DragonBoard 410c projects from different teams.
