Jason Silva: ‘The future is here’

Futurist Jason Silva is all about envisioning what lies ahead.

Known for his Shots of Awe series on YouTube, Silva is a thought leader who explores how human imagination intersects with technology to create the world of tomorrow. That’s why Qualcomm couldn’t wait to get his thoughts on bringing the future forward faster. Below, Silva explains in three videos how the Internet of Things, connectivity, and cognitive technology will redefine what we think is possible.

The Internet of Things. As Silva explains, seamless communication between our devices is the next stage of our technological evolution. From helping bring free Wi-Fi to New York City residents to creating immersive in-vehicle experiences, Qualcomm is actively working to pave the way for smart cities, smart homes, and smart cars.

Silva is right—humans have always been trying to connect. But even as the wireless revolution takes root, the mobile networks of the future will need to be faster and handle more. Qualcomm is advancing connectivity through solutions such as LTE Carrier Aggregation, LTE-U, and LTE Direct. And if that weren’t enough, Qualcomm is also leading in the journey toward 5G.
