Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Automotive Solutions announced its first auto-grade application processor for infotainment systems at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show. Building on the success of the modems that already power 20M+ vehicles, our Comprehensive Connected Infotainment solution bridges connectivity technologies with the growing demand for processing power for advanced applications like 3D navigation, multimedia streaming, and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication.

3. The foundations of our solutions are safety and security

Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 LTE and X5 LTE modems inter-work with the QCA6574A chipset to support in-car Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as the QCA6584, which also supports DSRC (dedicated short-range communications). DSRC will be required to comply with future regulations recently announced by the National highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to increase safety through vehicle-to-vehicle communication.

From 360-degree birds-eye view displays to always-on emergency services, we’re continually working on ways to support new technologies that influence advanced information safety features to protect the most important elements of any car: the people inside it.
