In March, Qualcomm and 378 other companies urged the U.S. Supreme Court to provide full legal support for same-sex marriage. We argued that inclusion and diversity strengthen our business, and that prohibitions on same-sex marriage impose a significant burden on our employees. Additionally, Qualcomm assists HRC San Diego by sponsoring and hosting an annual event for local companies to come together and learn more about HRC’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and LGBT workplace issues.
The HRC CEI is the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices pertinent to LGBT employees. Qualcomm can proudly boast a 100% score on the CEI for three years, earning it the distinction of being one of the Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.
We still have much work to do, but it is an extraordinary honor to be recognized for all of the hard work we’ve accomplished so far. We are looking forward to continuing this remarkable momentum and working together with HRC to shape an even more impactful 2016.
