ZTE has announced the Axon Pro smartphone, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with X10 LTE. You can feel the excitement at ZTE’s launch event in New York City, as the Axon Pro is designed with premium in mind, chock full of premium features, including Hi-Fi sound, dual rear cameras, a pair of JBL E13 in-ear headphones, and of course, the powerful Snapdragon 810 processor.

The design screams luxury, as the rear is completely clad in aluminum. It will be available in three distinctly named colors—Phthalo Blue, Ion Gold, and Chromium Silver—and will sport a signature Axon grill design. As for measurements, the Axon Pro comes in at a sleek 6.06 x 2.9 x 0.37 inches and weighs a mere 6.1 ounces. In order to compete with other premium phones, the screen resolution and quality has to pop. And in the case of the Axon phone, it delivers in spades. The 5.5-inch screen features a 2K resolution (2560 x 1440) and is fortified by Gorilla Glass 3 for durability.

The main concentration of the Axon Pro is superior multimedia experience. The device is showcasing two dedicated sound chips that promise to deliver high fidelity sound like no other. In the back of the phone, you’ll spot two cameras. Supported by the Snapdragon 810’s dual ISP technology, the Axon phone uses an ISP for each of the cameras (13MP+2MP) in the rear. With this technology, users can take the picture first and focus later, to create the bokeh effect popularized by DSLRs. The other big feature for the dual cameras is fast auto-focus.

You’ll also be able to capture super-sharp and detailed 4K Ultra HD videos on the Axon, with playback on an HDTV, thanks to Miracast technology, which wirelessly connects the phones to compatible external monitors. Twin microphones are made to eliminate background and wind noise in video capture, while the high-fidelity sound playback is louder and purer than ever before.

The Snapdragon 810 with X10 LTE supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi and MU-MIMO (which allows a data “fast lane” that serves more than one connected device simultaneously when paired with compatible routers), so the ZTE Axon Pro can get up to three times faster downloads, with smooth streaming and better browsing. Support for 4G LTE Advanced and CAT6 Carrier Aggregation on up to three different networks can also offer faster speeds and increased speed for all users in a cellular area.

ZTE is accepting pre-orders starting today at the ZTE website, stating they are expected to ship as early as July 27th.
