Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 is a refreshingly fast charging technology that is built into certain Qualcomm Snapdragon processors inside many mobile devices (view a list of Quick Charge 2.0 enabled U.S. devices). It is designed to refuel your device up to 75% faster than conventional chargers. But keep in mind that to achieve full charging speeds, a Quick Charge 2.0 enabled device must be paired with a Quick Charge 2.0 certified adapter. You can’t get these speeds with just any adapter.
And it’s important to know that these third-party products must go through a rigorous certification process to be an approved Quick Charge 2.0 charging device. The safety science company UL provides testing and certification laboratory services for Quick Charge 2.0 enabled accessories. Consulting our new PDF (link will start download) is a great place to start to confirm if a device or accessory is certified to support Quick Charge 2.0.
If you have any other questions about Quick Charge 2.0—say, how the technology works or what Class B means—please check out our new Frequently Asked Questions page and the official Quick Charge 2.0 web site. And if you are a 3rd party accessory manufacturer interested in applying for Quick Charge 2.0 testing and certification, you can find out more at the UL site.
