The Bear Grylls approved Verizon Brigadier™ by Kyocera is the durable, sapphire-screened smartphone from Kyocera that’s perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, or simply those unfortunately prone to dropping their devices.

The Brigadier features the powerful Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 400 processor, runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and features an 8MP camera. The 4.5-inch 720p screen is made of the virtually scratch-proof Sapphire Shield material whose hardness is surpassed only by diamonds. We’re not surprised that industry experts had so much to say about it:

  • “It not only employs virtually scratch-proof sapphire glass over its display, but also continues Kyocera’s tradition of crafting durable phones – the likes of which can withstand even the most extreme punishment.” - phoneArena.com
  • “This phone is an absolute tank—I spent the better part of an afternoon tossing it around our Labs and it emerged no worse for wear.” - PCMag.com
  • “The Brigadier packs a substantial 3,100 mAh battery, which I found to be more than adequate for a full day of use, if not two, between charges. It also takes advantage of Qualcomm's Quick Charging technology.” - gizmag.com
  • “Congratulations, Kyocera -- you've made this sapphire skeptic a believer.” - engadget.com
