Announcing the Snapdragon 4K video contest

Oct 16, 2014

Qualcomm products mentioned within this post are offered by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and/or its subsidiaries.

Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 800 series processors support 4K on-the-go, making Ultra HD content and creation more accessible, to more people, in more ways. We believe Snapdragon processors with 4K capabilities will enable a new wave of creativity in multimedia by putting technology that was previously only available to premium movie studios in the hands of everyday smartphone owners. That is why we are pleased to announce the Snapdragon 4K Video Contest, your chance to show off your creativity and win cash prizes.

To enter, just follow these steps:

  1. Capture a 1-2min 4K Ultra HD video on an eligible Snapdragon powered device
  2. Edit and Upload to your YouTube channel
  3. Enter the contest with your video URL on the contest page

There is no purchase necessary enter or win. You can learn more in the terms and conditions. There is a $25,000 prize for 1st place, $10,000 for 2nd place, and three $4,000 (get it, 4K?) prizes for next runners up.

Some eligible (and if I may, awesome) smartphones with 4K capture powered by Snapdragon 800 series processors include the LG G3, Samsung Galaxy S5, and Sony Xperia Z3. There are many more smartphones with 4K capture available today and more are anticipated to launch during the contest.

If you already have one of these devices, immortalize your visual story in 4K, today. If you don’t, fear not, the holiday shopping starts soon. Browse for your next Snapdragon powered phone with 4K capture on our device finder (and sort by special features).

Be sure to enter the contest on or before January 16th, 2015. We look forward to your creativity and your entries.
