Motorola has just unveiled the second generation of its Moto X and Moto G smartphones.

The new Moto X (shown above, right) is set to be the company’s flagship device. Boasting a powerful Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 801 processor, and running on Android™ 4.4 (KitKat), it has 2GB of RAM, is available with 16GB, or 32GB of storage through Motomaker, and sports a 13-megapixel camera.

The Moto X is designed to learn user preferences and adapt to their habits. It can automatically switch to hands free when it senses that the user is driving, or to silent during meetings. Plus, Moto X runs on the latest version of Android to deliver the best performance and give users enhanced control of their device.

Gesture controls mean that just a twist of the wrist can launch and activate the camera, while a wave of the hand silences calls or snoozes alarms. Users can also control the Moto X with customizable voice prompts, like “What’s up, Moto X,” or name it anything at all, for that matter. Ask it questions, post status updates to Facebook, play and pause video, or send messages through WhatsApp.

The Moto X’s exceptional design is expressed in the stylishly curved metal that frames a vivid 5.2-inch Full HD display made of durable glass with a water-resistant finish. Customize the device with wildly different back hues, or use genuine woods and leathers in the design for even more personalization.

The new Moto G device is refreshed and more advanced than its predecessor. Powered by a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 400 processor and running on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with a guaranteed upgrade according to Motorola, the new Moto G is available with 8GB of storage, has an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Videos and photos are sure to look their best on the Moto G’s brilliant 5-inch HD display. Full stereo sound with dual front speakers will keep audio crystal clear, and there’s plenty of potential for custom looks on the Moto G with Motorola Shells interchangeable backs.

The fast Snapdragon 400 processor is engineered to make effortless multitasking possible: listen to music while checking social media feeds, or quickly switch between texting and web surfing. Plus, the Moto G has an all-day battery to go the distance.

The new Moto X is expected to be available in mid-September with select carriers. The new Moto G is available unlocked and off-contract, in black or white through motorola.com and select retailers.
