Lighter, easier to hold and easier to read—the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX tablets are the first to be powered by a multitasking Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 800 processor. The Fire HDX, available in 7 or 8.9-inch displays, combines the best of e-readers and tablets. Its brilliant display, brand new tools for working and playing, special WiFi antennas, incredible entertainment features and LTE speeds will keep you connected and productive on the go.

First, you’ll notice the Fire HDX’s dynamic image contrast, display technology that helps the screen adjust to light, movies, books and games so your view is brilliant whether you’re on the couch or out at the park.

There’s also a ton of new features, with something for everyone. Start with Mayday, a clever on-demand video chat service that allows Amazon experts to guide you through any feature with the tap of a button. Mayday can help you discover other new features like X-Ray, a media technology that displays lyrics line-by-line in time with your favorite songs, and trivia from your favorite movies and TV shows.

Simpler features include new e-mail, calendar and productivity apps that send, view and group emails by subject and sync contacts quickly and easily. You can also print any important documents, spreadsheets, presentations, photos and e-mails from your HDX to wireless home and office printers.

If you’re excited about diving deep into the world of entertainment, HDX comes with dual antenna WiFi and optional 4G LTE so you can access entertainment virtually anywhere.

Making it easier to keep up on reading or watching the latest TV series, new features like Whispersync for Voice allows you to switch seamlessly between reading your Kindle book and listening to the audiobook companion. It even picks up right where you left off reading or listening so you don’t have to worry about searching or flipping back through the book. If you’re hoping to settle down with a movie or TV show, HDX includes Amazon Instant Video for Amazon Prime members that can work offline, and includes Miracast-enabled broadcasting for streaming to any compatible device or television.

Oh, and did we mention that the Kindle HDX tablets do all of this while extending battery life to an uncompromised 11 hours between charging?

Whether you’re a student, running a business or just like to enjoy kicking back and relaxing with a good book or movie, the Kindle Fire HDX is more than just an e-reader or tablet, it’s the best of both.

The latest buzz:
