You see it at tradeshows and golf courses… in coffee shops and hotel lobbies… on trains and taxis… it’s happening all around you, all the time… it’s business. And if you’re a part of it—if you’re a “road warrior”—you understand the challenges of staying connected while on the move—everything from sorting out roaming fees to searching for a coffee shop with Wi-Fi in an unfamiliar city (and then awkwardly sitting there for five hours after buying a $3 cup of coffee). If you travel often throughout Europe, things are about to change.

Recently, Dell, Telefónica and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced a deal that have Europe-based road warriors (as well as their IT and Finance departments) buzzing. The agreement marries Dell’s range of mobile computers, Telefónica’s service footprint, and Qualcomm Gobi 3G 42Mbps technology, creating the Dell NetReady solution.

The NetReady solution is a pay-as-you-go bundle providing affordable mobile connectivity through a single, integrated SIM, pre-installed in select products across the Dell XPS, Latitude, Dell Precision and Inspiron notebook lines. The solution allows mobile professionals to move seamlessly across Europe and avoid the hassles of roaming fees, searching for free, unsecure Wi-Fi and incurring expensive hotel connectivity fees. For instance, business in Europe may take you across numerous international borders in a single day—say, from London to Paris in the morning, and onto Cologne in the evening. With your Dell NetReady computer, you simply boot up and get connected—no more switching in/out carrier-specific SIMs or hunting for Wi-Fi. That’s easy for you and easy for your IT and finance departments, who will be able to make more cost-effective hardware purchases and better control expenses, respectively. (Imagine no more desperate or irritating calls to/from either department!)

NetReady solution highlights include:

  • Data connectivity across 29 European countries
  • 42 Mbps 3G enhanced speed
  • 3G security
  • Pay as you go service, no contract necessary
  • Flexibility—in real time, choose the connectivity bundle that best suits you

The NetReady solution is ready to go out of the box. Once you’re registered, choose whatever pay-as-you-go bundles suits you best—from 30 minutes to an hour, a day, a week or a month. The easy-to-use control panel lets you manage your account, track usage, and start/stop your sessions and connectivity.

Moreover, bundles move with you from country to country, ensuring transparent and clear pricing at all times—keeping the bean counters at HQ happy.
