Bigger screen but lighter
The first thing to note is a wider but slimmer and lighter 5.7-inch screen with full HD 1080p resolution. To complement this improved viewing area, the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 800 mobile processor at the heart of the 2.3GHz device is designed to deliver uncompromising graphics and 3D gaming as well as high-speed performance. It also packs a longer lasting battery, super-fast 4G LTE connectivity, and a 13MP rear camera with Smart Stabilization for capturing fast-moving memories.
A new feel
Another difference is one you’ll feel in your hand. The new Note 3 features a matte leather finish that early reviewers are finding comfortable and stylish, with good grip--though there will also be covers available in a wide variety of colors.
Improved S Pen
One of the biggest changes is to the S Pen. Just pulling the pen out activates Air Command, a menu that will pop up and give you a choice of the most popular uses for the S Pen including Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write, S Finder and Pen Window. Of special note is Scrapbook which allows you to simply circle something you want to remember for later, like a product you’re shopping for and it will capture the image, including the link and other data, for you to view later.
Samsung has also loaded the GALAXY Note 3 with enhancements to some of the device’s most popular software features. Multi Window, for example, which lets you toggle between applications without closing or opening a new page, now also lets you drag and drop pictures, maps and documents from one application to another. So if you want to share documents in an email or text you can simply drag and drop it into your message. You can now also run two instances of the same app, meaning you can now view two different websites at the same time.
