Fast &Furious 6: the Game from Kabam has differentiated itself from many other racing games by having its gameplay revolve around the concept of drag racing. Since the objective of every race is to simply go in a virtually straight shot from point A to point B, the developers completely did away with the steering wheel, braking system, and gas pedal. Instead of these familiar gameplay mechanics, they added features that are solely based on a player’s timing abilities. Each race begins with a countdown timer and at zero, the player has to hit a launch button that starts the cars initial acceleration.
During the race the player has to change gears by swiping the lever with proper timing, and also has the ability to hit a button for speed-injecting nitrous. There is a second drag racing mode in which the nitrous button is replaced with an option to drift. This drifting mode also requires the player to perfect their timing.
Though there are fewer gameplay mechanics in comparison to other racing games, players can still find themselves stuck on seemingly unbeatable levels in the story; much like other racing games, the way up is to upgrade one’s vehicle. The impressive level of visual detail that is put into the car customization feature is a reminder that gaming is no longer just pretty on consoles, but now also on your mobile devices.
All in all, this app is worth the download, available from iTunes, even if you are not a Fast and Furious moviefan. Although the game contains a good amount of references to the hit blockbuster franchise, it isn’t so overwhelming that non-moviegoers would feel out of place. If you are seeking a visually stunning and interactive way to spend some time, all while being thoroughly entertained, then look no further because Fast & Furious 6: The Game has arrived to satisfy your needs.
With the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 600 mobile processor powering the gameplay experience on smartphones like the Samsung GALAXY S4, the HTC One or LG Optimus G Pro, players are treated to background aesthetics so remarkable they might forget they’re playing on mobile devices.
