Qualcomm Labs and Factual Work Together to Help Developers Create a More Personalized Mobile Experience

We’re in an age when smartphone users are not only expecting, but demanding a more personalized mobile experience with hyper-relevant content. Today, I’m proud to say that we are continuing to make mobile context-awareness a reality through cooperation between Qualcomm Labs and Factual. With this cooperation, Factual will be able to promote to its customers the opportunity to utilize Qualcomm Labs  Gimbal™ context awareness platform, and Qualcomm Labs’ will be able to promote to Gimbal customers the opportunity to utilize Factual’s Global Places and Geopulse Context products. 

The Gimbal platform enables iOS and Android application developers to take advantage of the powerful capabilities of modern smartphones, including location-awareness, to deliver timely, personalized, and relevant content to mobile users. Factual’s Global Places data, covering more than 66 million local businesses and other points of interest in 50 countries, offers mobile developers the ability to supercharge the location capabilities of Gimbal, allowing them to build more powerful geo-aware global applications. Factual’s impressive real-time data stack processes billions of inputs, including contributions from partners such as TripAdvisor, to build definitive location data on a global scale for mobile developers.

Precise location is key to unlocking those personalized experiences, Qualcomm Labs is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Factual, a leader in location data and prominently backed by Andreessen Horowitz and Index Ventures. By leveraging our Gimbal context aware platform and Factual’s location data platform and ecosystem developers will be able to incorporate contextual awareness in mobile applications in new and exciting ways and I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.
