Downtown Las Vegas is fast becoming a hub for startups. One of these startups is Rumgr, the guys who are taking the garage sale and making it mobile. It works like this: snap a photo of what you want to sell and the app will geotag the item and show it to sellers in your immediate area — bringing a whole new meaning to the saying "buy local."
Rumgr is one of the startups based in Downtown Las Vegas, an area that is fast becoming a hub with nearly 7,000 new tech jobs created in 2011 alone. Prompted by Zappo's CEO Tony Hseih's $350 million dollar investment in the area, Downtown has gotten the nickname “SiliconStrip" with its own burgeoning startup and VC tech community.
