Would you like to see your name in the Guinness World Records™? No, we’re not suggesting you wear a beard made of bees. Instead we’re setting up the Snapdragon™ Gaming World Record Challenge at E3 in Los Angeles on Tuesday, June 5 and Wednesday, June 6.
What’s the Gaming World Record Challenge? Over the course of two days -- 26 hours to be exact-- a selected group of mobile gamers will match wits against each other for a chance to win prizes. And they’ll hopefully set the Guinness World Record for the Longest Mobile Gaming Marathon on a Tablet.
Challengers will use the Samsung GalaxyTab 8.9 provided by AT&T, featuring a Snapdragon S3 Processor. The last gamers standing will be entered into the Guinness World Records™ (along with Snapdragon) and will then participate in a playoff for a chance at up to $50,000* in cash prizes divided up amongst the top finishing gamers.
A qualification party will take place Tuesday, May 22 at 7 p.m. in Los Angeles. Up to 120 gamers will go head-to-head for a chance to see who will compete in the main Snapdragon Gaming World Record Challenge at E3. Challengers will compete for the fastest times (game will be announced at the event.) to become one of the 50 challengers who will join the Guinness record book attempt.
To be eligible, you must be a California resident, at least 18 years of age and, of course, be willing and able to attend the E3 World Record Challenge. If you meet those requirements, fill out our form to apply by Thursday, May 10 at 5 p.m. PT for the chance to participate. For those of you who aren’t eligible (and we’re sorry about that), you can either attend the event at E3 and root on the team, or stay tuned to the Snapdragon website to see videos and pictures of the event.
