This past Tuesday (11/30), I was named Marketing/MARCOM Leader of the Year at the PR News PR People Awards in Washington, DC. These awards recognize leaders of PR and Marketing programs judged to be best-in-class. I am obviously honored and humbled, but most of all, I want to share what's made our efforts worthy of such accolades. It all really boils down to two simple elements: owning a powerful global message of promise and the unwavering commitment of those charged in the delivery of that promise.
At QMT, where we make mirasol displays, we are on the precipice of something great. We are taking something that is entrenched, but fundamentally inefficient in its design (I'm talking usage of energy and light in existing display technologies) and reinventing it with nature as our guide. Our vision is to take this technology and use it to change people's lives. How can a display technology for e-readers, tablets and smartphones change people's lives?
You see, it's not just about more hours of battery life or perusing digital content poolside (though that's pretty grand!), it's about giving potentially limitless content options and usage scenarios, without those pesky tradeoffs, to people all over the world. Find out how.
To make that vision a reality, we've brought together hundreds of the most creative, educated and qualified folks from all over the world and asked them to make history (we've room for more, by the way, if you're interested). These colleagues of mine, who never cease to amaze with their innovation, inspiration and determination, they are the catalyst for this recognition. They work every day in San Diego, San Jose, Taiwan and around the world to fulfill this vision. These kinds of awards, whether win or lose, are a testament to our message of promise, but mostly, they are a tribute to my colleagues who are making it happen. I love sharing that message and can't wait for what's next!
