Part of our history
Qualcomm has a rich history of partnering with academia. Founder Irwin Jacobs, a university professor himself, started the company in 1985 along with other engineers and academics, one of whom was Andrew Viterbi, the Presidential Chair and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California. We understand that collaboration is critical to ensuring our ability to innovate and help communities solve technical challenges of tomorrow.
We believe in the power of technology
With the world becoming increasingly connected, we are embracing the tremendous opportunity before us and innovating solutions to tackle global challenges and make a lasting difference. As a company of inventors, we know breakthroughs do not happen in isolation. So, we strive to bring positive change in the world by working together with our ecosystem and research partners, like academia, to enable innovation that transforms industries and enriches lives.
