Imagine how these cognitive capabilities will allow you to buy custom-manufactured shoes based on a 3D model of your feet or how they will help the visually impaired get around. You could also imagine how traveling to a foreign country will be much easier when AI technologies translate street signs, describe the landmarks around you, and let you speak with the locals real-time.

Technologies, such as Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), determine relative location and create a 3D map of your surroundings.

Object recognition and classification along with sound identification will extract meaningful information for better scene understanding.

AI will personalize our experiences based on where we are, what we are doing, and what we plan to do. When you are in a business meeting, your mobile device will show you relevant information to the meeting, take notes, and even suggest a location and time for your next meeting. When you are at home, it will recognize different family members and present each of them with appropriate content and user interface. You will see your work e-mail, while your child will see his favorite cartoon.
