Qualcomm Fingerprint Sensor

Matching fingerprints is challenging without perfect images, and perfect images are difficult to get with certain hard cases—especially out in the field. The Qualcomm® Fingerprint Sensor offers cutting-edge ultrasonic technology to help solve a critical government challenge in detecting three-dimensional fingerprint characteristics.

Qualcomm Snapdragon is a product of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and/or its subsidiaries.

Built to capture the most difficult cases.

By utilizing commercial ultrasound technology, the Qualcomm Fingerprint Scanner was created as a prototype to show how the Qualcomm Fingerprint Sensor can be used to solve the hardest fingerprint cases in the areas of law enforcement, post-mortem forensics, border management, military operations and more. As a fully-integrated, Appendix F-certified biometric scanner with the power of ultrasound, our FAP60 scanner penetrates the outer layers of the skin to consistently ensure a high-resolution image quality—allowing us to capture images quicker and more accurately, no matter the situation or environment.

Use in any environment or situation.

Field ready

Rugged, lightweight, and equipped with an onboard battery, our scanner is mobile and ready for in-field use. Its communication capabilities make it easy to interface to a satellite terminal or in-country cellular device.

For any situation

Our scanner is equipped with a powerful ultrasound sensor that can read through common contaminants such as oil, sweat, condensation, lotion, blood, and dirt, with the ability to perform in almost any environmental condition—all while capturing a superior image.

Sensing and scanning, from commercial to government uses.

The same underlying ultrasonic technology enabling the Qualcomm Fingerprint Scanner prototype is available on multiple mobile devices powered by the latest Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ mobile platforms. Qualcomm Fingerprint Sensors have gained commercial traction from OEMs for their ability to scan through display, thick glass, and metal, with underwater operation, heartbeat, and blood flow detection.
