TAXATION

Promoting equitable policies and solutions

Qualcomm supports policies that drive innovation and enable us to compete in today’s global marketplace.

We believe a successful economy depends on a tax code that rewards achievement, encourages investment, and promotes growth. To that end, Qualcomm works to maintain professional and cooperative relationships with tax authorities, and in keeping with our public policy approach, we engage with governments, business groups and civil society to support the promotion of effective tax systems, legislation and administration. We also comply with all applicable laws, regulations, treaties and other relevant guidance in areas where we operate, in alignment with our Code of Business Conduct and Code of Ethics.

Qualcomm encourages governments to advocate for predictable tax systems and legislation based on universal tax principles as outlined by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. While taxes are a cost to investors and consumers, they are also an income source for governments that enable them to invest in long-term social and economic stability, encourage new and ongoing investment, and promote digital inclusion.

As a member of the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), Qualcomm supports efforts to pursue practices, including tax policies, that increase the affordability of mobile devices and services around the world. Broader internet adoption brings a range of benefits that include social equity and economic growth.
