Senior Vice President & General Manager, RF Front-End (RFFE)

Christian Block is Senior Vice President & General Manager, RFFE, Qualcomm Germany RFFE GmbH (a subsidiary of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.). In this role, Block is responsible for leading Qualcomm Technologies’ RF Front-End product lines globally and has direct responsibility for all RF Front-End related functions worldwide.

Block joined Qualcomm as part of the RF360 Holdings Joint Venture with TDK and played a key role in its creation and team transition. Prior to his current role, Block served at TDK for nearly five years, beginning his tenure at the company in 2012 as General Manager of Systems, Acoustics and Waves, and then moving into a General Manager role at the ICT Devices Development Center of Technology in 2014 and as a Corporate Officer of the TDK Corporation in 2015.

Upon earning a Diploma in Electrical Engineering at Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, Block began his career in 1989 at Siemens AG as R&D engineer, shortly thereafter transferring the research results by moving to Siemens Matsushita Components GmbH & Co. KG, where he spent the next six years as an engineer of microwave ceramics development before assuming leadership responsibilities over the department and, three years later, the Microwave Ceramics Business Unit. In recognition for his innovations, Block received awards in Germany (INNO97 from Siemens AG) for microwave ceramic filters and Austria (Fast Forward 2006 from local government) for WIFI/BT switch modules.

In 2006, Block joined EPCOS AG in Munich, where he managed the Surface Acoustic Wave Components Division (now known as Systems, Acoustics, Waves Business Group), and joined the Management Board in 2012. In 2014, Block became Chief Technical Officer of EPCOS AG, a TDK Group Company since 2009.
