The Qualcomm S3 Gen 2 Sound Platform is qualified for a range of LE Audio-enabled use cases for earbuds and stereo headphones, including audio sharing and broadcast and gaming mode with Bluetooth® 5.4 functionality. These dual-mode platforms integrate the best of LE Audio and classic Bluetooth, to enable smooth feature adoption for real-world listening scenarios. As consumer demand for smarter devices with more compute power, and smaller form factors continues to grow, the Qualcomm® QCC5181 WLCSP package is designed to help manufacturers develop a wide range of products, from ultra-small earbuds that are comfortable enough to be worn for long periods of time through to stereo headsets, and wireless speakers.

The Qualcomm S3 Gen 2 Sound Platform supports additional Snapdragon Sound capabilities, with improved lossless audio quality and enhanced robustness, lower latency at 48ms with voice back-channel for in-game chat. These platforms also support 32kHz super wideband voice calls for crystal clear calls, with aptX Voice technology, and up to 3-microphone Qualcomm® cVc™ Echo Cancelling and Noise Suppression (ECNS).

This solution is optimized between phone and earbud to ensure extremely low latency for a more natural and immersive spatial audio experience. On the phone, the spatialization and stereo rotation is supported by Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2, and on the earbud side the Qualcomm S3 Gen 2 Sound Platform delivers earbud to earbud cross head rotation alignment, low power consumption for the earbuds for longer periods of wear, optimised latency for a lag free experience and our own proprietary head orientation algorithm. ​

The Qualcomm S3 Gen 2 Sound Platform supports 3rd generation Qualcomm® Hybrid Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which improves the listener experience by adapting to both in-ear fit and the user's external environment. The Qualcomm Hybrid Adaptive ANC also includes our Adaptive Transparency mode with automatic speech detection, to support smooth transitions between immersive noise cancelling and natural sounding leak-through when a listener needs to hear the world around them. For audio device developers, our enhanced Qualcomm® Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology helps solve commonly faced issues such as wind noise, howling and adverse events.
