QChat™ Push-To-Talk has evolved into a solution built for the future.

Qualcomm's QChat solution is the push-to-talk service for 3G networks that performs.
Push-to-talk allows customers to communicate quickly and conveniently with individuals and groups without dialing numbers or listening to phones ring. And now operators can provide this robust communication service with the QChat push-to-talk solution.
QChat allows operators to retain customers and grow revenues by providing efficient signaling, "always on" connection, large group calling, along with best in class performance and efficiency. QChat is the present and future of immediate connection solutions that has already garnered success and moving forward will be impossible to ignore.
You can see why QChat is different in an instant.
QChat is a high-performing PTT solution with an improved coverage area. It is compatible with and optimized for EV-DO Rev. A, UMTS HSPA /HSPA+. QChat now has expanded coverage abilities to roam across networks and the ability to work over 1xRTT. The flexibility and robust nature of QChat also enables it to be interoperable with iDEN. What's more, it has an expansive suite of partners including companies in many countries around the world including Chile, China, Mexico, Peru, and the United States, with over 32 commercial PTT devices and more devices in production or planned.
The expanded access technology choices, telecom-grade server infrastructure and path to upgrading to converged communications and real-time multimedia services make QChat stand out from predecessors or competitors.
Moreover, Enhanced Operations Support means backend infrastructure improvements and operational support capabilities to diagnose and fix problems faster.

More features. More reasons.
The QChat client can be used on multiple platforms and devices from feature phones to smart phones, which allows operators to upgrade both high-end and lower tier customers. It supports platforms including Android™ and Brew™, as well as Qualcomm native chip software. In addition, there's a platform independent architecture for an integrated user experience across all platforms with shorter time to market.
With low call latency, scalable architecture, and extensive operational support, QChat offers important benefits to operators to maintain and grow their customer bases.
QChat has evolved.
The expanded technology choices of QChat makes it optimized for EV-DO Rev. A and UMTS HSPA/HSPA+. It also has expanded coverage abilities to roam across networks, as well as the ability to work over 1xRTT.
The QChat Solution Support has a larger group participants limit, more network efficient group calling, improved facilitation with enterprise applications, and has custom enterprise solutions support.
The Enhanced Operations Support means backend infrastructure improvements that benefit the operational support capabilities, which results in diagnosing and ultimately fixing problems faster.
Our Expanded Partner Ecosystem includes key operators, OEM licensees and device manufacturers with more PTT devices in production or planned.
The bottom line? Today's QChat is better than ever, and it's not stopping there. Further upgrades will continue to be forthcoming as PTT will be pushed to entirely new levels.
QChat evolves with customer's needs. And operator's desires.
QChat continues to offer operators unprecedented levels of performance, efficient network signaling, low call latency, a highly reliable and scalable architecture, and OA&M support.
In addition, the dynamic nature of the multi-services, IP-based QChat solution provides opportunities for operators to deliver the distinct services consumers demand today such as instant call and large group support.
And it's now available on more chipsets, more OS options, more OEMs and more infrastructure equipment providers than ever before. As corporate and personal communication evolve, so does QChat.
Furthermore, as PTT subscribers continue to grow, and as the scope of mobile communications channels keeps evolving, the QChat solution will help deliver positive ROI to improve operator's bottom lines.
Call types. Operator enabled features. Further explanations.
What makes QChat so revolutionary are its robust features including:
Call Types
Direct call - PTT calls between two users for fast two-way communication.
Alert - Predefined or user-defined text messages that users send to notify a recipient of a desire to communicate or specify the subject of the call.
Ad hoc group call -
PTT calls between three or more users, based on a user's defined member list. Users can also add closed groups to ad hoc group calls.
Closed group call -
PTT calls between three or more users, based on a predefined member list.
Large Group call - Larger group participants limit, up to 200.
Closed Chat Room - A closed chat room call is restricted to members of a closed chat room that has been defined in QChat group database. Only users belonging to the chat room can join a chat room call.
Operator Enabled Features
- Predefined Group Name
- Roaming within operator network (across regions)
- QChat to QChat Inter-Operator Calling
- Presence Interface
