At this year's E3, Qualcomm and its Snapdragon processors secured the Guinness World Records® title for the Longest Video Games Marathon on a Tablet at exactly 4:37 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 with 26 hours: 0 minutes: 2 seconds of gaming. The Snapdragon Gaming World Record Challenge pitted 32 gamers against each other to play on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 powered by the Snapdragon all-in-one processor. Gamers played one of the following five games:
- GT Racing: Motor Academy (Gameloft)
- Virtua Tennis (Sega)
- Galaga: Special Edition (NAMCO Bandai)
- Fruit Ninja (Halfbrick)
- Blood & Glory (Glu)
By the end of the two day marathon, 26 made it through the entire 26 hours and will forever be in history books. Efren Ballestamon from Chula Vista, Calif. walked away with the grand prize of $20,000 for achieving the highest score in Homerun Battle 2, by Com2uS.
