We call it integrated. Your friends will just call it awesome.

We call it integrated. Your friends will just call it awesome.

Modem? Check. Graphics Processing? Check. CPU? You know it. Qualcomm Snapdragon processors have the most important components integrated into a single chip. This “Snapdragon city” of interconnectivity inside every device allows it to communicate quickly, efficiently, and most importantly, ensures your smartphone can run laps around your friends’ phones. Check out this video to see the “city” inside Snapdragon powered devices.

The Hottest Phones Stay Cool.

The Hottest Phones Stay Cool.

Mobile processors are required to process huge amounts of information quickly and without the use of a fan – so some get really hot. That heat is battery life and processing power wasting away. Snapdragon processors are designed with thermal efficiency as a priority. Watch the video to see how Snapdragon powered devices stay cool.

When Designing the CPU, We Start With Your Needs.

When Designing the CPU, We Start With Your Needs.

We custom design our own microarchitecture, called “Krait,” based on the ARM instruction set. This allows us to innovate and improve performance every step of the way. The Krait CPU design uses asynchronous symmetric multiprocessing (aSMP), a technology that can throttle the frequency of each CPU core independently. This allows the CPU to use only the number of cores and amount of power needed to complete the task at hand, resulting in an incredibly power efficient design. Watch the video to see how performance comes from design.

Independently Impressive

Independently Impressive

The multiple Krait cores inside advanced versions of Snapdragon processors are powerful enough to take on the toughest jobs. Yet, they’re smart enough to power down when the task is simple. The asymmetric design allows them to work independently, and that’s impressive. See what a quad-core Snapdragon processor can accomplish in this video.

When the GPU is built-in, so are killer graphics.

When the GPU is built-in, so are killer graphics.

Graphics are an essential part of the mobile experience. That’s why we design our own graphics processing unit that is integrated into the Snapdragon processor. We call it Adreno. Adreno GPUs significantly accelerate the rendering of complex geometries to meet a level of graphics performance required by today’s most complex and realistic mobile games, user interfaces, web browsers and other advanced graphics applications. Watch the video to see how Snapdragon’s GPU technology enables next-generation graphics.

Rendered Useful.

Rendered Useful.

What is designed to ensure your graphics are quick, no matter how complex? That would be FlexRender. FlexRender is a proprietary technology built into our Adreno 300-series GPUs that helps render graphics for gaming faster and more efficiently.

Dynamically Drawn

Dynamically Drawn

How do Snapdragon processors render graphics so fast and so crisply? A little thing called Unified Shader Architecture, smart technology designed to dynamically adjust how it allocates its resources depending on the type of graphics being rendered. Both pixel and vertex shaders can throttle up and down independently, so what you see is stunning graphics and performance and what you don't see is an unnecessary reduction in battery life.

Connect to it all. No wires necessary.

Connect to it all. No wires necessary.

The majority of what your mobile device can do is dependent on what it is connected to. That’s why Snapdragon processors give you faster, more secure, and more stable methods to connect to other networks and other devices. Our patented Gobi modem helps you establish and maintain a strong connection to your network for crystal clear voice and high-speed data.

4G LTE is here. Your phone is ready. Are you?

4G LTE is here. Your phone is ready. Are you?

Snapdragon S4 processors were the first commercially available mobile processors with a built in 4G LTE modem (look at our specs page to see which processors have modems integrated). So, downloads happen quicker. Page loads breeze by. Streaming is streamlined. Up to ten times faster than 3G speed, you’ll feel like you’re hard-wired everywhere you go. And with the only integrated multimode LTE modem, your phone can switch between 4G LTE & 3G without dropping a call or losing a connection.

Getting lost has never been so difficult.

Getting lost has never been so difficult.

The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processors take advantage of Qualcomm’s IZat technology to give you precise location information inside and out. By using an array of signals including precision GNSS, which consists of GPS and Glonass location receivers, location data can be used for accurate mapping as well as many applications. So navigating the world isn’t just easier, it’s more exact. Watch the video to see how Snapdragon helps keep you on the right path.

The Connections Never End

The Connections Never End

Tune in to FM radio, or tune out with Bluetooth connected headphones. Snapdragon processors enable all the connections you need to get the most out of or into your device. Connections Include:

● Wi-Fi

● Modem

● Bluetooth

● GPS

● HDMI

● USB

The power to watch a film festival. Or produce one.

The power to watch a film festival. Or produce one.

Take in a visual masterpiece in stunning HD and advanced 7.1 surround sound. Or get award-worthy yourself, with the ability to capture full HD 1080p video with full surround sound. Many Snapdragon processors enable up to 3 cameras per device and capture stills of up to 20 megapixels. Yes, this is what it’s like to have a studio in your hands. You’ll be walking down the red carpet in no time.

Roll camera one. Ready camera two and three.

Roll camera one. Ready camera two and three.

Prepare yourself to have some pretty sophisticated photo and video capturing tools in your hands. Upper tier Snapdragon processors enable three separate cameras - one front-facing camera for video conferencing, another for capturing full-HD 1080p and up to 20 megapixel stills, and on some devices a third to capture stereoscopic 3D video. Add on no lag-time shutter speed enabled by our built-in Image Signal Processor (ISP) and your smartphone or tablet is transformed into a high-end digital camera. Get yourself a gaffer and a couple of grips and it’s time for production.
