QPoint

Qualcomm's QPoint solution is for operators who are interested in offering location-based services to their subscribers. Qualcomm Internet Services (QIS) offers QPoint products, tools, technology enhancements and support to its channel partners/system integrators who deploy the solution.

QIS encourages all operators interested in deploying commercial location-based services (LBS ) with QPoint technology to explore this opportunity through our channel partners/system integrators. QIS has established strong relationships with system integrators who are best suited to commercialize QPoint technology and deliver a complete service backed by a global support staff that can support operators’ day-to-day operational issues. Furthermore, our system integrators are able to enhance performance by optimizing various components of the end service.

QIS will offer system integrators QPoint products, tools and services to enable LBS deployments. Specifically, QIS provides the Position Determination Module (PDM) along with tools such as SnapCell, Snapper and TraceFilter2, among others, and WARN services such as the SnapWARN Service and the WARN Builder Program.

LBS by gpsOne

Qualcomm focuses its efforts on continuing to develop and enhance technologies that support wireless positioning solutions, such as gpsOne, the world's most broadly deployed position-location solution. Qualcomm’s gpsOne solution uses satellite and terrestrial-based technologies simultaneously — resulting in highly precise, reliable location-based services and applications.

Qualcomm’s BREW solution and its gpsOne technology enable developers to easily create compelling and useful location-based applications. A number of developers are already experiencing success around the world, including NAVITIME, a Japan-based developer specializing in location services. Japanese wireless operator, KDDI has asked its developer community to create all location services using the BREW solution. NAVITIME’s top application, EZNaviwalk, is based on BREW and has proven to be extremely helpful to subscribers seeking location assistance as well as increasing ARPU for KDDI.
