The AMBER Alert Highway Network's mission is simple: help save lives and reunite abducted children with their loved ones. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, more than 260,000 children are abducted every year, and it's the first few hours that are critical to the safe recovery of these young victims. This is where the trucking industry is uniquely poised to lend a hand.

Qualcomm's mobile technologies and expertise in location-based services perfectly support this cause. Coupled with a customer network of thousands of trucks that hit the road daily, these important alerts can help in the search for an abducted child.

Supported by the American Trucking Associations, the network is a collaboration between the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Qualcomm, through which AMBER Alerts are distributed to participating carriers' trucks within specified geographical areas.

Why should your fleet participate?
The most important reason is the possibility of saving a child's life. And you might be helping to protect your very own community - which brings not only personal satisfaction among your drivers and other employees, but you'll be further recognized as a company committed to your community, your customers, and their children.

Participation in the AMBER Alert Highway Network is open to Qualcomm customers using the MCP100 and OmniTRACS® mobile information system. Participation is voluntary and free. If you would like to join the network, please contact your Qualcomm representative or call 1-800-348-7227.
