Umberto Cannarsa is a staff product manager for augmented reality (AR) at Qualcomm. In this role, he is responsible for Qualcomm AR server and developer website functionality, and oversight of the Qualcomm AR Extension for Unity.
Prior to joining Qualcomm’s corporate R&D team, Cannarsa was a senior product manager for Qualcomm Internet Services (QIS) where he was involved in several emerging mobile Internet initiatives and was actively involved in the creation of the Plaza Mobile Internet ecosystem. While working with the Plaza team, Cannarsa defined product requirements and product specifications for the developer, subscriber and operator portals.
Before Qualcomm, Cannarsa worked for Kyocera Wireless. In this role, he was responsible for the product management of several mid-tier Brew handset platforms and which he successfully launched with domestic and international operators.
Cannarsa earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics at Lycée International de Ferney-Voltaire in France. He also earned a Master of Science in Macro-Economics and International Law from the Graduate School of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
