Sonia Contreras possesses more than 20 years of experience in the international public health and the evaluation field and is a senior health advisor for the International Community Foundation and a PhD candidate at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, in Tijuana, Mexico. Furthermore, Mrs. Contreras is the binational director and Co-PI of the Dulce Wireless Tijuana project, and advises the Secretary of Health of Mexico as well as the Institute of Mexicans Abroad on health care access issues for migrant families.

Mrs. Contreras is a member of the American Association of Evaluation, the Mexican Association of Telesalud and the Mental Health Concilio of California. She received her master’s degree in population and international health from Harvard University, and her B.S. in biochemistry and cell biology from the University of California in San Diego.
