Nagraj Kashyap is vice president of Qualcomm Ventures. In this role, Kashyap is the global head of the group and oversees the Company’s strategic investments in wireless-industry ventures. In addition, he provides direction and guidance to the Qualcomm Innovation Network team and oversees business development activities for R&D programs such as Augmented Reality, Indoor Positioning and Personal Area Networking.
Before being promoted to vice president, Kashyap was a senior director of Qualcomm Ventures where he served as the global head of the group and expanded the team’s presence to India and Israel. Prior to that, Kashyap was a director, leading the North America operations for the Ventures group. Kashyap joined Qualcomm in July of 2003 as a senior manager in business development.
Prior to Qualcomm, Kashyap was a manager at PRTM, a management consulting company and had direct client engagements with Nextel, Motorola, DuPont, Caterpillar, Michelin, Bell Mobility and ADC. Prior to PRTM, Kashyap was a senior product marketing manager at Motorola. He has also held engineering positions at 3Com/US Robotics and Nortel.
Kashyap serves on the boards of Avaak, Brain Corporation and Zeebo. He is a board observer at Livescribe, Location Labs, Obopay and Sotera Wireless. Kashyap has also contributed to the successful acquisitions and IPOs of companies such as Airvana (IPO:AIRV), Bitfone (acquired by H-P) and Novarra (acquired by Nokia).
Kashyap graduated from University of Mysore in India with a Bachelor of Engineering, Computer Science degree. He then earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Texas, Austin, followed by a MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
