James Lederer serves as executive vice president of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., and general manager of QCT. He provides broad leadership to QCT’s business operations including strategy, sales operations, finance and accounting, supply chain, operations, legal, and human resources. Lederer also serves as a member of Qualcomm’s executive committee.
Lederer joined the Company in 1997 as a senior manager in Qualcomm’s corporate strategic finance group, bringing 15 years of business and financial leadership experience to the job. In 1999, Lederer joined QCT as a director and was promoted to vice president in 2001, assuming responsibility for the worldwide QCT finance organization. Subsequently, he was promoted to senior vice president in 2005 and continued to play a key role in the growth of the semiconductor division as a key member of the group’s management team. Lederer earned the additional title of general manager of QCT in early 2009.
Prior to joining the Qualcomm team, Lederer spent time with Motorola, holding broad finance roles within multiple business units, including the company’s cellular products division. His earlier career included management roles at General Motors (Delphi Products) and additionally at Scott Aviation in upstate New York.
Lederer received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance and his master’s degree in business administration, both from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He currently serves on the advisory council for the School of Management at SUNY Buffalo.
