Cheryl Goodman

Sr. Director, Marketing and Business Development

Cheryl Goodman is senior director of marketing and business development for Qualcomm Labs, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. In this role, Cheryl oversees global marketing and communications efforts, providing strategic counsel to Qualcomm Labs and current portfolio companies (including Gimbal and LTE Broadcast) with the mission to build businesses that enable wireless technologies, markets and experiences.

Prior to joining Qualcomm Labs, she oversaw global marketing efforts for Qualcomm MEMS Technologies, Inc. (QMT). In this role, she also oversaw QMT’s successful awards program, which included honors such as the Wall Street Journal Innovation Award, PC Magazine Technical Excellence Award, EDN Innovation Award, the Andrew Seybold Choice Award and finalist recognition in the CES Innovation Awards and GSMA Global Mobile Awards. She also has experience managing Qualcomm’s industry analyst relations program and public relations efforts for FLO TV and FLO Technologies divisions.

Prior to joining Qualcomm, Cheryl served as the director of public relations and marketing for Lindows.com, a start-up that created the Linux-based operating system, and she also led public relations efforts for MP3.com. She has extensive experience in broadcast journalism, having served as the technology Web reporter for ABC affiliate KGTV and Web reporter for CBS affiliate KFMB.

Goodman is a frequent spokesperson for current and past Qualcomm divisions. She has been quoted in multiple publications and has spoken at top tier industry events such as The Digital Publishing & Advertising Conference, the Magazine Publishers Association’s Dimensional to Digital, M-Publishing, and DEMO 2009.

Goodman was listed as a finalist for the 2012 San Diego Daily Transcript’s “Young Influential and Successful Business Leader” and PR News’ 2010 “Marketing Leader of the Year” awards. Additionally, she was named 2010's Marketing/Marcomm Leader of the Year by PR News. In 2004, she was nominated for PR Leader of the Year by T-Sector Magazine.

Goodman attended San Diego State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, television, new media and film.
