Guest blogger Brian Russell is the CEO of Zephyr and has a background in electronics and exercise physiology. For the last 10 years he has been developing remote physiological status monitors and impact detection systems for physiology and biomechanics in defense and training applications. Previously, he was a senior electro-optics design engineer for Nokia in the UK. Brian was also an integrated circuit design engineer for Analog Devices; later this role became technical marketing and strategy management for several product lines in optics-based vertical markets. Brian also holds multiple patents on sensors and algorithms to determine the physiologic status of an individual. Brian has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
