Qualcomm Adopts Rule 10b5-1 Stock Disposition Plans

– December 12, 2001 – SAN DIEGO -- December 12, 2001 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced that its Board of Directors amended the securities trading policy applicable to its officers and directors to permit the adoption of pre-determined plans for trades of specified amounts of company stock in accordance with Rule 10b5-1 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

The amendment permits officers and directors to implement such plans when they are not in possession of material nonpublic information, in order to gradually diversify their investment portfolio, to minimize the market effect of stock sales by spreading them out over an extended period of time, and to avoid concerns about initiating stock transactions while in possession of material nonpublic information.
