Qualcomm Enters into CDMA Subscriber Unit License Agreement with Hisense Group

– November 28, 2001 – SAN DIEGO -- November 28, 2001 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, and Hisense Group Co., Ltd., today announced that they have signed a commercial subscriber unit license agreement. Under the terms of the worldwide royalty-bearing license agreement, Qualcomm has granted Hisense Group a license under Qualcomm's CDMA patent portfolio to develop, manufacture and sell cdmaOne™ and third-generation (3G) CDMA2000 1X/1xEV subscriber equipment. Hisense Group will pay Qualcomm ongoing royalties at the same rate, irrespective of the licensed CDMA standard implemented.
