The MVPc uses the Windows CE operating system to run custom or third-party applications, enabling truckload and less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers, private fleets, third-party logistic providers and fleets that serve metropolitan areas to operate more efficiently and profitably, offer improved customer service and comply with industry regulations.

Alan Ritchey based in Valley View, Texas will equip its postal transportation, dairy and feed mill fleets with the MVPc. The truckload carrier plans to use the in-vehicle computers to lower overhead costs and increase operational efficiencies.

"We were looking for a tool that would help us improve our back-office accounting functions, as well as provide our fleet with increased delivery control," said Dave Clifton, CIO of Alan Ritchey. E. Stewart Mitchell, a nationwide asphalt transportation and distribution company based in Baltimore, Md., plans to install the MVPc throughout its private fleet, enabling the carrier to streamline operations and improve customer service.
