Open to non-military and military, Startup Weekend San Diego and the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University are partnering with Google to host the first ever Startup Weekend focused on helping Veterans, Service Members and Military Families bring their ideas for new startup companies to life.
All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.
Thursday, August 9th will be the first ever
Google for Entrepreneurs Day for Veterans, Service Members and Military Families. A Google team will be on site to host sessions and take questions on Google’s tools for businesses and entrepreneurs.
Then, join Qualcomm Labs at a hackathon where we'll guide developers on how to implement the Gimbal SDK into applications for Android and iOS, during the August 10-12th (Friday-Sunday) special Startup Weekend which brings together the startup and military communities to launch great new startup ideas here in San Diego.
